Love the lines in this one. Just been looking at the Mariner/Dore illustrations and they use lines in similar ways (don't they?).

I'm pretty in awe of Doré - lots of the stuff we see of his as illustrations are etchings - too too skilled for a buffoon like me! The one or two hours I get to work on each page is not enough for such wizardry. And someone always knocks the table when I'm working! I do try to make the composition as interesting as brain power and time on any given evening permits though. Do you like the symbolists generally?
